With the increasing cost and time delays incurred using the court system I anticipate arbitration could be on the rise over the next few years for separating couples trying to resolve financial disputes. The new website is good way to help people to understand arbitration as a process so they know they have other options. I will certainly be highlighting it as an option where I consider a case is suitable.
The role of the IFLA site is to help raise the profile of arbitration, explain the process and drive people to an arbitrator or further information. The new homepage will act as a signpost to visitors towards one of three journeys: 1. information for those who need a basic introduction to the concept of Family Arbitration 2. guidance for those who are seeking to actually engage in Family Arbitration 3. information and resources for practitioners of Family Arbitration or those considering it.
