The old adage says "Out of the mouth of babes". So often children have the solutions to problems their parents may found impossible to resolve when making child arrangements on separation or divorce. Allowing children a voice in an appropriate and child focussed way has to be right. Too many children never get heard and too many suffer harm from exposure to parental conflict.
FJYPB: "Our five wishes for child inclusive mediation" In a recent commission, the Family Justice Young People’s Board (FJYPB) supported Research Professor Jan Walker and Angela Lake-Carroll, Co-Chairs of the Dispute Resolution Advisory Group, to consider the type and nature of services available for children and young people when parents separate. We expressed our views on how children and young people should be included in their family’s mediation, what information they feel is important and how this should be presented and available to them.
